A lonely piano echoes in the night-

Nostalgic sounds reaching the ruthless sky-

Who are you, mourner of my lost delight?

Why must I hear your longing and weep the tears you cry?

Night after night I hear you, giving your dreams to me,

Night after night you see me, sending you all my fears.

And in my rhymes, I place your longing for the sea,

And in your notes, you put my memories and tears.

Waves
And in my words i put your longing for the sea...

Is this my hand that’s writing? Are those your hands that play

With so much burning passion? Are those your eyes that weep?

Is this my soul regretting the coming of the day,

Longing for night’s soft hours, and all delight they keep?

Image of someone playing the piano
...are these your hands that play?

The fading stars are weeping…Who do they mourn tonight?

For whom is the earth shaking, torn by such bitter pain?

Who is the moon lamenting, shedding its tears of light?

They seem to cry for my grief, and yet they call your name.

My tireless hand still writes deep in the night-

Nostalgic words sent to the ruthless sky-

Who am I, mourner of your lost delight?

Why must you feel my longing and weep the tears I cry?
